There was plenty of body painting during the year with Supanovas, competitions and of course artists’ own business projects but QBAS had not had a painting meeting. Christmas was the obvious theme, this time with a circus twist.
The June QBAS meeting carried the theme of the Zodiac. Our artists painted 11 signs of the zodiac: Aries, Taurus, Capricorn, Sagitarius, Aquarius, Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, Leo, Cancer onto 8 fabulous models.
Our last Qld Body Artists Society meeting for the year 2016 (where did the time go?) was just a little one, November being such a busy month for everyone. However we still managed to create a stylish addition to any Pompadour Ball, don’t you think?
For the May 2016 Queensland Body Artists Society meeting a few of us got together for a painting session to the theme “Rusty and Forgotten”. Photographer Shaun Gibbs joined us for the day to capture the final results.
Qld Body Artists Society paints at Bloomhill Cancer Care fundraising event. A lot of fun was had with an audience that may not usually come this close and personal to body painted models.
As part of the Ipswich festival Art Beat showcases arts and crafts to the public, and once again Qld Body Artists added their bit of colour to the event. Once the stalls are packed up a street parade, lit with colourful lanterns provides the perfect stage for our models to bring their characters to life.
Nature inspired body painting workshop by the Queensland Body Artists Society (QBAS) February 2016
We entertained the public with live demonstration of body painting, then our models mingled with people and had lots of photos taken. Even the Ipswich Major joined in the fun. In the evening we joined the lantern parade, a lovely way to end a very colourful day.
